Happy Father's Day!

Emma throwing a fit

Emma and Daddy - 2 days old
The first time Bryan held Emma

Emma wanted to tell Daddy Happy Father's Day! I just want to tell Bryan that he is an amazing father and husband and can't wait to watch how he grows with Emma. We love you! I also wanted to post the poem that I had put on Bryan's frame. I thought it was so appropriate being his father's day.

My Daddy's Hand
Daddy, Take my hand in yours and you will plainly see,
How very much I need you now to love and care for me.
As my little hand grows, I will need you even more,
Everything I do in life, I have never done before.
Teach me to be kind and loving, sharing and forgiving,
Show me through your acts of love the pure joy of living.
The years will pass by quickly and one day I will be grown,
I will pass what you have taught me onto children of my own.
Hold me always in your thoughts and remember when we are apart,
The special love between a child and a daddy's heart.

Bryan and I would also like to wish our Dads a Happy Father's Day and same to all the other dads out there.

Lazy Thursday

We spent the day lying around the house since it was so humid. We did however go outside for an hour and play in the pool and let Lilly run around. Here are a couple of pics from the pool. I promise to post more pics this weekend.

Here are a couple of pics of the house with the landscaping and some of the Lillies blooming. We didn't really know what the plants were since we didn't move into the house until late June last year and there was drought.

7 months today!

7 months today and sitting in my rocking chair that was mommy's
my carrot mustache that daddy and i made while he fed me
playing in my pool in the backyard, just checking out the views
mommy couldn't resist. asleep with my silky.
all smiles for my first bath in the big girl tub
holding silky and watching mommy and daddy get ready for work
being a silly girl
just like my shirt reads, too sweet
playing in the floor with daddy.
helping read the instructions to daddy for my new carseat.

It is hard to believe but our little girl is 7 months today. Time just keeps flying and she keeps getting bigger and learning new things. She sat in my old rocking chair that my dad restored for her today for the first time and even move to rock herself. She took a bath in the big girl tub for the first time this week and we have had to get a bigger carseat for her. We keep trying to encourage her to crawl but she would rather be standing and trying to walk so who knows what she will do first. We do know she is ready to chase Lilly. Emma started showing interest in a sippy cup this week so we are now working with that as well. We can't go anywhere nor can she fall asleep without having silky in her hand. We have a busy next month coming up. Bryan's mom will be watching Emma for a little while this coming Saturday so we can celebrate our 1 year anniversary.  At the end of June it is off to Laurel Fork Park for a family vacation with Bryan's family and then 2 weeks later it is off to the beach for family vacation with my parents and niece. We know people will be traveling alot over the next few weeks and we wish everyone safe travels and good luck to Andy, Alisa and Michael on the upcoming birth of Kate in July.

Emma's friends

We have had a great couple of weekends spite the weather outside. Last weekend one of my best friends, Kasondra and her family came up to visit. The girls had fun playing together. We even got to play rockband for a little while even though it was challenging with a 22 month old and 6 month old. This weekend we celebrated one of my other best friends birthday by all of us going to dinner and then back to the house to visit and let the kids play. Colton screamed the whole way to our house saying I coming Emma, I coming. lol. We had fun just watching them. He would kiss Em and she would put her hand on his leg. As you can see from some of the pics that I've been working in photoshop and had to put them up. The one of Emma in the sink was her first sink bubble bath and she loved it. She is such a big girl. She is now riding in a cart without her carrier and sitting in a high chair at the restaurants. That is just a little of what has been going on in our lives the last couple of weeks. Hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day.

Mother's Day 2009

My cousin Melina her daughter Leah, myself and Emma
My two favorite women, Mom and Emma

I will treasure this picture forever.

I wanted to wish all the mommies and mommies to be a Happy Mother's Day. My hubby, daughter and fur daughter have made my first Mother's Day so special. I received a beautiful heart shaped necklace with a saying on the back about mothers and a couple of cds, dvd, and a book that I had read about. Yesterday my mom surprised me and we went to get our hair done. I was so excited because I had been talking about going and getting it cut then Bryan and I went on a date yesterday afternoon. I want to thank my mother in law for giving me the wonderful husband that I have and tell her how much we love her. I also want to wish my sister in laws a wonderful day and look forward to spending time with them this summer on the family vacation. To my mom, I love you from the bottom of my heart and now understand all the things you tried explaining when I was growing up. You are wonderful woman that has endured alot and couldn't ask for a better mom.

6 month checkup

Emma went today for her scheduled 6 month check up. She is measuring 26 1/4 inches long and weighs 16.13 pounds. She is just a long chunky monkey. We weren't able to start her series of 6 month shots because her oxygen level was measuring in the 50s and this was a concern of distress. The nurse came in and checked her like 3 times and then brought Dr. Ray in to check her. We ended up doing a breathing treatment in the office and that seemed to help so we are now going to be doing them at home every 4 hours. We will go back next week for her 6 month physical if she checks out ok then.

Here is a list of Emma's milestones:
She is rolling over from tummy to back
She can get her toes in her mouth now
She is able to sit up by herself for a couple of seconds but we are waiting any day for her to do this with no problems
She loves standing up
She loves to play in the exersaucer and spin around
She is able to follow us around and responds to sound
She is starting to say MaMa
She is grasping onto Lilly and laughing at her
Is eating baby food now and loves it.
Loves going for walks with mommy and daddy
And WE HAVE 2 TEETH!

We hope everyone has a great week and a wonderful Mother's Day!
