Emma's First Tooth

I have been blogging now since Emma was 2 months that she was teething but the tooth just wasn't coming through. Well tonight when I was getting her ready for bed and putting her orajel on, I felt something sharp when I rubbed over the gum. After trying to keep her tongue away for a second we were able to see it poking up. We are so excited. When it comes through a little more I will get a picture and post it. Ms. Holly said she had just been so happy, excited and playing today and did not have any medicine or problems. I guess we know now why.

Thinking about some things earlier while I was in the kitchen watching Bryan and Emma playing and laughing in the Bumbo and swing, I kind of chuckled to myself. Our lives have changed so much. When we were dating or first married on Friday nights we could just pick up and go to the movies or play rock band with friends or decide to dash to dinner. Now our lives consist of leaving the office at 5 and driving to pick Emma up at Ms. Holly's. Tonight we went to Lowe's to look at plants and flowers because I'm ready to landscape. When we got home dinner was started and I fed Emma her fruit and cereal and played after we changed into jjs. Yes our life has been full of hectic times, changes and firsts but they are wonderful and actually keep getting better.

Fun Weekend

Getting ready to go to church with Mawmaw, Pawpaw and Katie
Opening the easter basket from Auntie Lydia

We have had a wonderful week and weekend with the exception of bad weather on Thursday. We experienced our first tornado warning away from Emma. She was safe at Ms. Holly's house and we were in the stairwell at the office. Let's hope this is not going to be the type of weather we are constantly experiencing this spring. That night when we got home Emma opened her first Easter basket from her Auntie Lydia. She received all sorts of things but the best thing of all was a mickey mouse cd. On Friday night my parents and niece came up to help us fix the tires on the lawn mower and have dinner since Saturday was the big Mule Day event here in Columbia and traffic was going to be terrible. We had a great time and can't wait till Katie spends a couple of days with us next week while on Spring Break. We hope we will be able to go catch the new Hannah Montana movie since Katie is a huge fan and since Bryan was on set while they filmed in Franklin. Saturday we headed out of the craziness of Columbia and went to Nashville to shop at Opry Mills. We had an experience getting there but it was fun. We realized when we hit Franklin that we had forgot to put the stroller back in the car and had to stop and buy a stroller on the way. Bryan did a great job putting it together in Target parking lot. We found lots of great deals at Osh Gosh and we even found Emma a little bathing suit for this summer's adventures. Today was spent around the house trying to get the yard mowed before the rain hit. It took several hours and work on both the lawn mowers but it is finished. This week is our spring break. I will get to spend the whole week home with Emma and Bryan will be with us on Thursday and Friday. We are looking forward to our first Easter with Emma and can't wait to post pictures of her in her dress and with her Easter Basket. It is hard to believe but our Angel girl will be turning 5 months on Tuesday. She is rolling side to side, is constantly holding onto her toes, jabbering and trying to get up on her little knees and hands now. We are trying baby foods and for the most part she is loving it. We still have not got the teeth through the skin yet but we are expecting that to happen anytime now. We hope everyone has a wonderful week and a safe and Happy Easter.
